Where OnlyFake Started

Every rebrand has a backstory. Here's OnlyFake's — before the name changed. OnlyFake operated from 2021 to 2024. During that time, its service generated at least 10,000 digital IDs.

It also brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars. However, the main OnlyFake domain and its mirror site have been inactive since February 2026.

What is OnlyFake

OnlyFake is an underground website. An AI-powered platform makes fake documents. It uses “neural networks” to generate fake IDs.

It can help someone create many digital IDs in minutes. These include U.S. driver’s licenses from all 50 states. They also include Social Security cards. It can also make passports from about 56 other countries.

They are also boasting elements of artificial intelligence, and has made successfully circumvented Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications. Users could customize the output to look like a scanned document.

It could also look like a photo on a surface.

This enabled highly realistic fake IDs through the AI-powered platform.

The platform let freelancers or actors build a virtual persona.

It included “authentic” and “legit” documents.

This helped them pass authentication checks on many cryptocurrency services.

Why OnlyFake Rebranded and Became MacDoc ?

A clean takedown story. The founder faced charges and pleaded guilty for his role in operating the website OnlyFake. So it start rebranding quietly for months until it has been functionally stable.

In their own forum threads, they switched their brand ads. They pointed domains from OnlyFake-linked identities to the new MacDoc.

So What Changed?

Let's determine and learn from them. OnlyFake is now Macdoc. The name and their logo changed into two different brand.

Over the last several months, the same accounts on the same forums started advertising a new brand, MacDoc. They changed their avatars from the OnlyFake logo to the new logo and They also pointed their threads to new domains.

They went back and edited old OnlyFake ads to show the rebrand. This directs customers who look up OnlyFake to MacDoc. Since they sold all the IDs for only $15, we paid for the service.

We ran its test on the website.

It generated a random fake driver’s license and other IDs. And surprisely, at first glance seems legitimate.

How does the MacDoc app work?

After logging in, you can see the same UI and layout on the generator page.

All pre-defined parameter lists are the same.

The general dynamic fields are also the same.

• Gender

• Country

• City

• Document Type

• Revision

• First and Last Name

• Birthday , Issue and Expiry Date

Photo and signature upload are available.

You can also add a hologram option and edit metadata.

Choose from a global passport catalog covering 58 countries.

You can also select residence permits from all countries.

Driver licenses are available too.

I also notice a metadata column.

Image metadata is hidden data stored inside an image file, along with the picture.

You don’t see it when you view the image.

But it is still saved in the file.

So it looks more like a real passport.

The EXIF data shows that Photoshop did not create it.

It looks like it was scanned with a camera or scanner. As there are many templates farm that selling psd templates for passport, ID and DL.

Once all the value is filled. You can see the preview document generated in bottom section.

All the generation process is smooth and user-friendly. It involved steps like making PDF417 and Code128 codes. Then we sent them to the server.

It ended with a preview of the final product. Three buttons generate different results, and each generation leads to a different result.

Their website has three generation buttons for sample document images. I tried downloading from each one — here's what I got.

Their standard generation is a plain 2d passport image.

Meanwhile, for scan generation is a likely a printer scanned passport document with little bit of background paper texture.

Lastly is their photo generation with a hologram effect.

It is backed by a real background image.

It also has a shaped shadow around the passport.

To be honest, without knowing the source, I'd take this as the real thing.

Every time a user clicks Generate, a consent dialog pops up.

It asks them to confirm they will not use the image illegally.

This works like a logged acknowledgment.

It gives users plausible deniability.

It also shifts legal exposure to the user.

This happens at the moment they generate an image. Those disclaimer are similar to suggests that the fake ID templates "are only for use in movies, TV shows, web illustrations (online account verification)."

It claims that buying and owning a PSD template is legal.

But making a fake PVC license, card, or ID for real use is illegal.

It is also a serious crime. So the use for fraudulent purposes is strictly prohibited. Therefore they set up the template in such a way that people cannot physically use it, only can used in digital. They also highligh if user plan to fake PVC license/card/ID card template, please exit the site immediately.

What we can see from the results

We have tested the platform and it works perfectly, and it gives you high-quality documents in various formats. Calculating correct document validity windows per country and revision year is surprising.

It also generates legally structured national ID numbers in the correct format.

It handles Cyrillic to Latin transliteration for MRZ fields.

Lastly, it pulls from country-appropriate name databases.

This includes dual-script Chinese names.

Based on the findings, they can identify complex data patterns using algorithms.

They can handle complex machine learning tasks.

These include natural language processing and image recognition.

This reduces the need for extensive feature engineering and manual effort.

Having a model that can process and create complex information would be useful.

It could help generate photo IDs with layers of text, photos, colors, and holograms.

Each passport or ID often has unique algorithm numbers.

This requires analyzing thousands of original documents to decode them.

I tried to check their U.S. driver’s licenses from all 50 states. After I select the country and document type, more fields appear at the bottom.

These fields let the user enter driver’s license details in custom fields.

and some value like DOC Discriminator and Inv Number can be custom generated.

We performed some testing on barcode by downloading any Barcode Scanner and scan the content inside it. Here are the results.

The data are matches the expected content in the image !!! This confirms their barcodes are genuine, not random codes that only seem to work.

This verifies the barcodes are legitimate and rules out random false positives for buyers.

OnlyFake : What MacDoc Means Going Forward

With the same operator on the same forums, they switched their brand ads.

They pointed domains from OnlyFake-adjacent identities to the new MacDoc brand. MacDoc will keep operate and unkillable like such templates farms.

No sharing will occur on the new URL to avoid publicizing the fraud tool.
